The seventh son of a seventh
son, Edgar Dean Glosup was born in Posey, Texas, in 1907, and became a
film, recording, and stage star, well loved for his warm and generous
personality as well as for the strength and grace of his magnificent voice.
He recorded for Decca, Majestic, and other labels, and appeared in scores
of films, including twenty in which he starred for PRC from 1946-1948,
some of which were the first singing cowboy films in color. This classy
Western gentleman, whose voice remain-` undiminished by time, is also
the writer or co-writer of several western classics, including On
The Banks of the Sunny San Juan, I Dreamed of a Hillbilly
Heaven, and One Has My Name, The Other Has My Heart.
